Interceuticals introduces new natural supplement to effectively slow age-related memory issues and enhance and improve brain health

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Salem, MA – September 20, 2019 – Interceuticals Inc. announces the formal launch of Interceuticals Better Memory®, a ground-breaking brain-health supplement effective in slowing age-related memory issues and enhancing brain function in healthy adults.

Recent brain research shows that age-related cognitive decline or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is closely associated with inflammation in the brain, which has a negative impact on the brain, memory, and cognitive functions.

The key ingredient in Interceuticals Better Memory is Theracurmin® Curcumin, a specially developed form of curcumin, which is a compound derived from the turmeric plant.

The powerful anti-inflammatory properties of the turmeric plant and curcumin have long been recognized, however the efficacy has been limited due to its poor absorption in humans. The special Theracurmin Curcumin used in Interceuticals Better Memory, has been shown in published studies to be absorbed into the bloodstream faster and more effectively with 27X times greater bioavailability than standard curcumin products due to its100x smaller particle size.

Using the same dosage of Theracurmin Curcumin found in Interceuticals Better Memory, a groundbreaking UCLA study has shown that it has a statistically significant effect on improving memory in both healthy and adults with MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment) by an average increase of 28% in memory functions, and improvements in brain structural health confirmed through PET brain scans.

Additional ingredients in Interceuticals Better Memory include a proprietary neuroprotective Chinese herbal blend containing Sichuan Lovage rhizome extract and Cinnamon Bark extract, both of which have been used for centuries in traditional Chinese Medicine – and supported by published research results – to enhance blood flow to the brain and improve cognitive functions. This makes the Interceuticals Better Memory formula the only one of its kind in combining the best traditional Eastern healing with the most rigorous Western formulation and quality control, as well as clinically tested strength, dosage, and regimen.

“To protect the health span’ of our brain throughout life, we need to systematically reduce the source of inflammation through regular exercise, a healthy diet, and adequate sleep” explains Interceuticals founder, chief scientist, Dr. PeiPei Wishnow. “New research, such as the UCLA Study, shows that a high-quality nutritional supplement which has been scientifically formulated and clinically tested can provide important, additional brain health support.”

Summary of 2018 UCLA Memory Study:  “Memory and Brain Amyloid and Tau Effects of a Bioavailable Form of Curcumin in Non-Demented Adults” American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry (2018 26:3, 266-277).  Conducted at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and led by Gary Small, MD, Director of the UCLA Longevity Center and Director of Geriatric Psychiatry Division at Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior.

Study participants were 40 healthy men and women between the ages of 51 and 84 years with normal, age-related mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The long-term (18 months) double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, used Theracurmin Curcumin (90 mg twice a day) due to its superior absorption into the bloodstream and higher bioavailability 27X when compared against standard curcumin supplements available on the market.

Based on the researchers’ previous experience, 18 months was chosen as the required time-period needed to observe meaningful changes in the structure of the brain. At the end of the 18-month study the researchers reported significant improvements in the following cognitive areas in the Theracurmin Curcumin-treated group:

  • Average 28% increase in memory functions*
  • Short-term memory*
  • Long-term memory*
  • Long-term memory storage*
  • Visual memory and recall*
  • Attention and focus*
  • Mood balance*
  • Healthier brain structures confirmed through FDDNP PET Brain Scans*
    • FDDNP PET Brain Scans: patented brain imaging technology developed at UCLA, and used for detecting specific bindings of beta amyloid and tau protein in various regions in the brain

Conclusion: The researchers concluded that a twice daily, 90 mg oral dose of Interceuticals Better Memory’s key ingredient, Theracurmin Curcumin, led to significant memory, attention and mood benefits.
